I have been a Professor at the University of Campinas (Department of Applied Linguistics, area: Language and Education – Translation), since 2015. Before that, I taught Portuguese Language at Georgetown University, Department of Spanish and Portuguese in Washington, DC, and Translation Practice and Translation Theory at undergraduate and graduate levels at several colleges and universities in São Paulo, Brazil. My research interests range from current trends in translation studies (cultural, ideological, sociological and questions of ethnicity, identity and gender); the interface between translation studies and trends in contemporary thought, such as deconstruction and post-colonialism, and translator training and reflection on the fusion of theory and practice.
