The Graduate Program in Applied Linguistics's faculty is comprised of seventeen reserachers, coming from different areas in language studies. The Transdiciplinary Dialogues in Language Studies team is comprised of one or two faculty members from each of the four research tracks in the program. All team members lead or co-lead research groups that are interested in transdisciplinary approaches to the problem of language(s) and media in use as related to their specific research questions and objects. Marcelo and Rodrigo are concerned with the technological mediations of meaning, identities and power, and societal appropriations of digital media in varied contexts of discursive practice. Érica and Viviane are translators concerned not only with different types of translation (such as literary, commented or recreated translations) and translators' education, but also with the role of translation in accessibility and human rights, and the influence of linguistic colonization in translation processes. Daniela's research approaches institutional discourses, media, arts, education, and literature through post-colonial and memory theories, as well as the various forms of interconnection between text and image for the study of contemporary media cultures. Inês and Cynthia specialize in literacy studies. Cynthia is interested in the teaching of literature at school and in youth literary practices, specially Slam. Inês is concerned with academic literacies in the Brazilian Humanities and the teaching of academic literacies to affirmative action students at Unicamp. She also does and supervises research on digital literacies at school and the composition and circulation of texts in social media. Two of our team's supervisees are doing exchange doctorates under the supervision of international partners of the Project. Samira Spolidorio is at the University of Vigo, under the supervision of Jose Yuste Frías. Cátia Lassalvia is on her way to Lille in Janunary/2020, to work for a semester with Annik Rivens.
